Drawing a Figure Step by step

Practice drawing figures while appearing to be studiously taking notes.

Finding the time to practice our figure drawing, and finding models who are willing to pose can be problematic.

But we often have to attend speaking sessions, expositions, exhibitions, lectures, meetings where we have a notepad and pen in our hands and a person who is speaking. Do you see where I’m going with this? Yes, use that time to practice. There’s nothing to stop you from taking notes at the same time, and drawing may actually help you concentrate on the speech. It will certainly help you work out the emotions of the speaker.

Of course, the speaker may not be entirely still, but it is an opportunity for you to try to capture the essence of the portrait or the figure. An opportunity to try speed drawing.
