This isn’t easy to do. Even though cartoons look a lot simpler than regular drawing, you still need to know about perspective, proportion, action lines, facial expression, character development, shading, and basic drawing concepts.

Drawing cartoons requires that you take the basic elements of a drawing and use them to represent a more complex idea. But if you are lacking in basic skills, it’s hard to get something simple to look right.

The tiniest change in a line or shape can make a huge difference.

Remember, maintain a positive attitude, and keep on practicing. Practice doesn’t make perfect, but it makes better. Even professionals are always learning and improving.

So start where you are, get some more books, and keep on learning more. You can’t get where you want to be by just thinking about it.
